Meet Nick Faldo

With six major wins and more than 40 tournament victories worldwide, Nick Faldo is revered as
one of the most focused and fiercest competitors in golf. A winner on four different professional
tours, Nick has claimed three U.S. Masters titles and three British Open championships. He has
led the European Order of Merit on three occasions and holds the all-time Ryder Cup record
for most appearances (11) and most points scored (25).

Nick was introduced to the game at age 13, when he saw Jack Nicklaus in the U.S. Masters, an
experience that inspired him to take up golf. He played his first Ryder Cup at age 20 and by the
early ‘80s had become a major force in European golf. After remodeling his swing in the mid-
‘80s, in 1987 he achieved his first Major championship victory in the 1990 Open at St. Andrews
and established himself as golf’s No. 1 player. In the 1992 Open, Nick set a 36-hole Major
record while winning his third Open and fifth Major title, then added to his Masters victory in
1996 beating Greg Norman by five strokes after trailing by six going into the final round.

In 1985, Nick was a member of the first European Team to defeat the U.S. in the Ryder Cup for
28 years and two years later played a pivotal role as the team retained the trophy, winning for
the first time on American soil at Muirfield Village in Columbus, Ohio. Nick also was a member
of the victorious 1997 side and in 1998 partnered David Carter to England’s first victory in the
Wold Cup of Golf in Auckland.

Nick has achieved 30 European victories, including three World Match Play Championships, a
European Open, four PGA Championships and three successive Irish Opens. Between 1993-
94, he held the World No. 1 ranking for 81 successive weeks.

Through his company Faldo Enterprises, Nick has also become a success away from the
fairways. Companies under the Faldo golf umbrella include Faldo Design, his successful
international course design business; the Faldo Series, a premier competition for young
golfers; and Faldo Wine, a signature series of excellent wines; and other initiatives presently in
their infancy.

Nick’s latest venture, Faldo Management, was launched in March 2004 to manage the affairs
of young professional golfers and guide the careers of promising young amateurs. Nick hopes
to draw on his vast experience to guide them to success on and off the course.

Recent strong performances in Major championships prove Nick can still compete at the
highest level. He achieved the low score in both the 2002 and 2003 U.S. Opens and mounted
a stunning performance at the 2003 British Open. Nick has recently released his official
autobiography and was named Captain of the European Ryder Cup 2008 team.
