| Meet Billy Kratzert Billy Kratzert, PGA Tour member and golf commentator for CBS, ESPN, TNT and the PGA Tour Radio Network, played the PGA Tour from 1976-1996. During his years as a touring professional, he won four tournaments, including the 1976 Walt Disney World National Team Championship, the 1977 Greater Hartford Open, the 1980 Greater Milwaukee Open and the 1984 Pensacola Open. His father, Bill, head professional for more than 40 years at the Fort Wayne Country Club, got him started in the game at age 13. Billy went on to win the Indiana State Amateur at 16 and was inducted into the Indiana Golf Hall of Fame in 1993. A 1973 and 1974 All-American while at the University of Georgia, he turned professional in 1974 and went on to make 466 starts with 283 cuts and earned $1,396,819 in his career. He also won $13,648 in 12 events on the Nationwide Tour. Billy played 15 Champions Tour events prior to 2005, including 14 in 2003, and owns one top-10 finish, at the 2003 Royal Caribbean Golf Classic. |
